Dr Bekbolotova is a Research Fellow (Economist) at UCA's  with expertise in economic growth and development, economic regionalization, rural and agricultural development, food security, trade, and evidence-based policy analysis. Prior to joining UCA, she contributed to research at the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) and Kiel University (Germany), and supported programme implementation and analytical work for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Kyrgyzstan. She also held academic and administrative roles at the American University of Central Asia and the International Ataturk Alatoo University.

Her experience encompasses quantitative and qualitative research, macro- and microeconomic analysis, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E). She holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics (Germany, expected 2026), a Candidate of Economic Sciences degree in Economic Theory (Kyrgyzstan), and an MA in Economic Policy (Hungary). She is a recipient of several fellowships, including Fulbright (USA), FMSH (France), and DAAD (Germany). In 2016, she co-founded the Public Foundation “Research Center Development” and established the biannual Prof. Dzh. Musaeva Scientific Award to support early-career researchers working on Central Asia.
